Coaching
“What exactly do you do?”
Like a sports coach, I work with my “players” to develop skills needed to succeed at the game. For my clients, the game might be school, work, family life, or social relationships. We identify what success looks like in each arena and then focus on building skills and developing strategies to achieve the client’s goals. Through guidance, accountability, and advocacy, I help my clients conceptualize the challenges they face in life and make small but effective steps toward contentment as they see it.
GUIDANCE
In sports a coach guides players by teaching fundamentals and overall strategy. For ADHD, each domain of life can feel like its own game with different rules. As your executive function coach, I will help you understand the mechanisms of ADHD and guide you through goal setting, skill development, and strategy implementation.
ACCOUNTABILITY
For executive function strategies to become effective, people need clear check points, cues, reminders, and opportunities to reflect. This accountability often falls on family, teachers, or colleagues, which stresses relationships. As your coach I will provide positive and gentle accountability, creating space for your other relationships to thrive.
ADVOCACY
Neurodivergence is misunderstood by many people, which can sometimes result in adverse environments for those struggling with ADHD and other executive function issues. As your coach, I help you find a voice to advocate for yourself, to educate others, and to collaborate in creating environments conducive to your success.
To help you best reach your goals, work with me can take various forms:
Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly sessions (either in-office or virtually) to reflect on progress, plan for the future, and practice skills
Shorter, virtual check-ins to keep on track
Text message reminders & encouragement
For school-age children, advocacy visits with teachers, special ed faculty, or administration
